Printing costs include:
- White / Black / Color Ink
- Paper or envelopes printed on
- Unique design printing
- Double-sided printing
- Variable-data printing
- Custom Print & Laser Designs
- Proofs are strongly recommended to be certain the final prints will be as you anticipate. Proofs may be ordered for any print work for you to check for full-color accuracy, quality, and visual content. Please note that PDF files will not always print as anticipated. If not ordering a proof/sample first, you agree to our No Proof Disclaimer. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or compensation if the color or readability is not as expected. Read more about this in our Setup Guides
- Digital Proofs: We do not provide digital or photo proofs because they do not accurately represent how the file prints on paper. We may send a digital proof only if we find concerns with your file. The exception is envelope printing.
- Colors on the screen may not be true to print. Ink will absorb into the various paper colors, textures, and weights differently from what is seen on a monitor.
- Ink Colors are non-metallic. We print in CMYK. Files set up with RGB, Pantone, etc., may print out differently than anticipated. CMYK is recommended. Click here to find our CMYK Codes.
- Metallic Ink Add-On is available to add to most printed items. (setup guide below)
- Upload Your Own Designs only come with printed pieces as shown. All additional items are sold separately.
-
Printing color ink on color paper: We typically do not recommend printing color ink on color paper, as the ink will pick up the pigment of the paper and alter the final print result. However, we can accommodate this. To proceed:
- Select Color Ink Printing
- Upload the file and choose a paper color from the list to add it to your cart
- Use the Paper Color Upgrade add on to choose the new paper color
- At checkout, leave a note in the order comments (located after selecting the shipping option) confirming
- Order a proof: Due to the potential for color variation, we strongly recommend ordering a proof first to ensure you are satisfied with the print results. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or compensation if the color or readability is not as expected.
- Printing on Translucent Vellum Paper: Colors will print out darker on Vellum paper. Proofs are recommended. (Note: “Vellum White” is a blush-tone matte cardstock, not translucent vellum.)
- Mounting Services selected will add 1-2 business days of additional processing time to your order. Click here to read more about mounting services.
-
Shift in Printing: Due to the way paper feeds through the printer, there can be a slight shift in printing alignment. This occurs because the printer grips the paper and pulls it through the machine, which can cause minor variations in positioning from one sheet to another. While we take great care to ensure accurate placement, a small shift—typically up to 1/8" within industry-standard tolerances—can occur.
If your design includes elements that require precise alignment, such as borders or tight margins, we recommend allowing extra spacing to accommodate any slight variations. Designs with parallel borders or graphics/text close to the cut line may appear misaligned or crooked. Keeping these elements at least 1/4" from the cut line will minimize any appearance should it shift.
- Shift in Cutting: When a blade trims through a stack of prints, a slight, unavoidable shift may occur. This is true in all print shops and the acceptable industry standard is 1/8". The shift may appear from top to bottom, left to right, or as a very slight skew, and it can affect how your artwork looks. Designs with parallel borders or graphics/text close to the cut line may appear misaligned or crooked. Keeping these elements at least 1/4" from the cut line will minimize any appearance should it shift.
- Print Files: Please upload PDF files sized to the cut size, do not include crop marks. If your design touches the edge of the paper, then please add a bleed of 1/8" to all 4 sides (so 1/4" to each dimension, ie. 5x7 would require a 5.25x7.25 file) and extend the design to the edge to create a seamless cut. (see set up guides below)
- Double-sided Printing/Multipage Files: If ordering a double-sided variable data print, please arrange your multi-page PDF with the front(s) and back(s) for every piece, even if one side stays the same. (example- Front 1, Back 1, Front 2, Back 2, Front 3, Back 3,- and so on).
- Printing Photos: Please be aware that photos will print out darker than what is seen on a computer screen. A proof is strongly recommended when the file contains a photo or full ink coverage. It is recommended to print on a non-textured paper such as Luxe White (130#), White (80#), or one of our Photo Paper options, to ensure a beautiful print. (see set up guides below). Colors will print out darker on translucent Vellum paper.
- Printing QR Codes tips: Use a high-resolution Vector file, make sure the image is sharp and clear; the size of the QR code should be appropriate for the card size and should be no smaller than 1/2"; order a proof to ensure that the QR code is scannable on the paper/acrylic it is printed on.
- Acrylic Printing: Our color printing process, uses a white base layer. This can result in a very thin white border around some color graphics. See Example Note: Acrylic printing requires additional processing time from standard paper printing. (Note: Metallic ink and foil stamping is not available for acrylic printing.)
